Santa Special's 2009

Its nearly that time of year again when Santa comes down to his grotto on Dooley Lane at the Dragon Miniature Railway, Where a special train will take you to see him in his magical grotto. Below you can find the details for our Santa Special's

Santa trains will operate:

Every weekend , Wednesday, Thursday and Friday from the 28th of November to the 24th of December and Every Day from the 19th to the 24th of December.

The times are

Wednesday and Friday 3:00pm - 5:30pm

Thursday 3:00pm - 8:00pm

Saturday 12:30pm - 5:30pm

Sunday 12:00pm - 4:30pm

Santa Specials will include a train ride to Santa's grotto and each child will receive a present a drink and some biscuits.

Fares for Santa specials are £5 per child and 70p for adults

No Pre - booking is necessary, However we do recommend you that you come with spare time as there can be quite a wait. Typical length will be about 30 mins. A normal train service will also operate for those who do not wish to see Santa

 

Halloween Special's, October 2009

Well once again the cold month's have arrived, But that dosent mean Special events can be stopped. The next event at the DMR will be the Halloween Special which will be held on Saturday 31st of October. For £4.99 you can get a meal at the cafe at Wyvale garden centre and a spooky train ride and travel through the spooky grotto and see the decorations.

The last meal will be served at 7:30 PM

The last train ride will be at 7:50 PM

Santa Specials, December 2008

Santa will be returning in 2008 to his grotto at the Dragon Miniature Railway.

For the last two years Santa has visited the railway to the delight of children across South Manchester and beyond. His special illuminated grotto, and Christmas lights which adorne the railway, will be returning this December to please even more children. Each child will receive a present from Santa Claus, as well as a drink and some biscuits.

You will board the special Santa Express, which will pull you round the track through the special Christmas illuminations  to Santa's grotto deep in the woods, where the train will stop and each child receive a special present, a special talk from Santa himself, before returning to the station.

The Santa Express begins running on Saturday November 29th, and running times are as follows:

Saturdays, 12pm - 5.30pm.
Sundays, 12pm - 4pm
Wednesdays and Fridays, 3pm - 5.45pm
Thursdays, 3pm - 7.45 pm.

Dates are as follows:
Saturdays: 29th November, 6, 13, and 20th December
Sundays: 30th November, 7, 14 and 21st December.
Wednesdays: 3rd, 10, 17 and 24th December
Thursdays: 4th, 11th and 18th December
Fridays: 5th, 12, 19th December

Santa Expresses will also operate on Monday 22nd December and Tuesday 23rd December, 12 - 5.30 both days.

On Saturdays and Sundays, a normal train service will still operate, and normal trains will also operate during the weekday during school holidays.
